UPDATE: September 2019

Clive Schlee sneaked out quietly and “retired” as Pret’s CEO in Sep. 2019, yet he remains as a non-executive Director in the background, pulling the strings and guiding his McDonald’s follower Pano Christou.

David Carter, who was supposed to be the “Head” of HR, submitted to his People Business Partner, Nick Davis, who was promoted to Senior PBP, like Carter is promoted now to UK Director of People. Andrea Wareham has been axed from the board of directors when JAB Holdings took over. Women rise up!

Angels of light look bright and friendly, but people die under their “guidance”.

I worked at Pret A Manger and survived systemic workplace bullying during bereavement that involved HR, the top leadership, HQ and even the now “retired” former CEO Clive Schlee. I declined 4 settlement offers if I am silent about my ordeal. But I rather speak out to help others.       I did one in this style in German once some years ago when I still had a “normal” life, but on a completely different subject. I write like this when I am a little bit angry at the huge chasm between super rich people who could make a difference in people’s lives, but choose to sweet-talk instead, being part in creating stress for hard working people, leaving those behind in poverty and illness who make their wealth happen. 😦

      2. Hey thanks for your kind words. Yes, I like to write as it comes, different styles, no rules. To me there is no rule in writing, no right or wrong in style.

        I tend to figuratively speaking “rip out” a page of a lecture book on poetry like the character Robin William plays in “Dead Poet’s Society”, teaching his students to dare write outside the box and not follow stale rules that holds them in check and kills creativity and freedom!

      5. Really weird, when you pointed me to Jane Basil, I thought that I saw that name somewhere thinking of a poet from the 60s or the 1800s!

        And now where I have searched and checked that she is actually here on WordPress I remembered that I “liked” a poem of her that I read this morning!! Maybe I found it via your blog, I can’t remember. But thanks for pointing her out. Small blogging world!
