I thought similar until I found that Cash is only covering it. It’s written by the brilliant Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy (Will Oldman) but Johnny Cash did what he did best, own a song as if he wrote it. I prefer Cash’s version here. Same with the 9 Inch Nails song “Hurt”…
