Lesson learnt: never finalize the year in review BEFORE the 31st of December!
This comment is now “Ex Pret Staff of the Year 2024” as I don’t have this “category” in this 2024 review, this is it.

For information, the position of “shift runner” existed between 2008 and 2015. It was a position before the team leader position but with less pay than a tam leader. At that time 4 positions were the pathway to become team leader which are: hot chef (responsible for hot food), barista (coffee), team member trainer (kitchen staff trainer), and between 2008 and 2015 the shift runner.
But because shift runners were not easily taken to responsibility like team leaders are, Pret stopped it in the fall of 2015. The shift runner position was my pathway to being a team leader.
The above Ex staff wrote this comment underneath the “Annihulate Humanity” slide where I used a full long review I found on Indeed and gave it its own YouTube slide, as this is THE most spot on and poignant review to this day:

I worked at Pret A Manger and survived systemic workplace bullying during bereavement that involved HR, the top leadership, HQ and even the now “retired” former CEO Clive Schlee. Schlee has been appointed CEO of itsu in 2024 by Julian Metcalfe who gave him the CEO spot at Pret many years ago.
